Our hope is that the CHBC family will come together at 9 am to serve, fellowship, teach, and learn—and again at 10:30 am to worship as one body. Though the morning may be longer than what many are used to, we believe this shared time will help both our members and our church flourish.
In Worship Ministry, we're excited about sharing our corporate worship with as much of our church family as possible. We're so excited to hear the robust and confident singing of the saints, to partake in communion shoulder-to-shoulder with one another, for the whole church to witness and encourage new believers in their baptism, and for the Holy Spirit to move among our church in a unified way as we sit under the preached Word all together at once.
Of course there are nuances, and will always be imperfections in coordinating our worship services, but this coming season is one we are praying the Lord uses to bind our hearts together and unify us in our mission, as we cry out to the Lord as one, for the movement of his Spirit among us.

We will gather for corporate worship at 10:30 am, the first part of the morning will be with children in the service, the second section kids will be dismissed for an age-specific message during the sermon.
Our Spanish speaking brothers and sisters of CHBCe will gather in the Chapel, also at 10:30 am. We will continue to explore opportunities to fellowship and to celebrate the sacraments together!

We serve a Triune God, who has always existed in community: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As Christians, we, too, are made for community; to journey through life with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ for encouragement and exhortation, towards a life that increasingly reflects that of Christ. In our hectic and busy world, this type of intentional community building can easily lack priority, and even be overlooked altogether.
In our new one-service format, Connections is excited to see time and space built into our Sunday mornings for this very type of knowing and being known. We are eager to see the CHBC family grow closer to each other, and ultimately to the Lord by having intentional time to connect with those we already know, as well as those who are unknown to us or new to the church.

We will have coffee/tea (and occasional edible refreshments) available in the Fireside room. We will have warm and welcoming Connections volunteers on hand to serve the coffee/tea.
We will have three physical spaces in which to gather:
The Fireside and Main Lobby will continue to be used for general, organic fellowship, while the Commons and Chapel area will be available to be reserved for more intentional gatherings. For example: parishes, life group fellowship, young adults, etc. These types of gatherings will not occur every week, so these spaces can also serve as spots for casual fellowship, too. We are excited for our congregation to think of this time as an opportunity to connect and dive deeper; to schedule a conversation with someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with; to meet a mentor/mentee on a regular basis; to welcome a newcomer and have margin to sit down and get to know them; to just grab a seat and enjoy a coffee with friends.

Our usual host of Connections greeters will be on hand at the doors and the Connections desk welcoming people with joy into the corporate worship gathering.

In our new one-service format, Kids Ministry is excited to see families equipped, deeply rooted, and thriving as they participate in the 9:00 and 10:30 hours.
This new rhythm allows more of our church body to personally know and disciple the children of CHBC—praying for them by name, investing in their lives, and passing on stories of God’s faithfulness to the next generation. For our kids, attending both hours means digging even deeper into God’s Word as they learn, worship, and grow together in community.
We can’t wait to step into this new season with you!

Having everyone under one roof allows us to worship together as one body, to build relationships across generations, and to grow deeper in the Word through intentional teaching and discussion in our Adult Classes. We believe this will help us become more connected, more unified, and more focused on our shared mission as a church family.
The new Adult Class structure offers diverse, practical, and biblical topics—from theology to parenting to evangelism. You’ll have chances to explore new areas of faith and life in a structured but flexible way.
Another thing that we are excited about is that with multiple teachers and topics, there’s a broader platform for people in our church to use their teaching gifts. We are investing in identifying and equipping teachers to further bless our church family.
This is a strategic move toward a culture of discipleship, where we are prioritizing deep and long-lasting faith.
