Dear Youth Ministry Families,
It is with great joy and anticipation that we share with you that Noah Schomburg will serve as our new Youth Director beginning on Sunday, August 24th. Noah has faithfully served in our youth ministry over the last four years and comes to the job with a deep love for the Lord, for our church, and for our youth.
I am thrilled to get to work closely with Noah in helping shape the next season of CHBC’s ministry to our youth. Please join me in congratulating him when you see him. Please pray for him and for Sara as they step into this new season of their lives.
In Christ,
--
Rodrigo Dinsmore
Associate Pastor
Noah was born and raised in Apex, NC. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from NC State and then his M.S. in Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill. He’s spent several years in biochemistry as a research associate.
Noah has been a part of the Bible Church since 2019 when he moved to Chapel Hill and began attending and teaching in our young adult class for post-college students.
In 2021, Noah began serving as a small group leader in youth ministry discipling 6th (now rising 10th) grade boys each week, teaching the Middle School large groups on a regular rotation, and participating in various youth retreats.
Noah and Sara met at CHBC and were married in September 2023. In May 2025, they gave birth to their first little girl, Jane Ophelia.
Like many of the youth at CHBC, I grew up attending Sunday school and was involved in youth group. When I went to college, I began to question what I was taught my entire life, looking for satisfaction in the wrong places. By the grace of God, one of my professors was a Christian and set a good example of what truly following Jesus looks like, full of grace and truth. Through their ministry to myself and other students, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes. What were just facts my entire life became truth that changed my life. I began getting involved in church again, surrounding myself with Christian community, and following Jesus fully.
Youth ministry was a large part of my teenage years, for better or worse. I understand how critical and formative this season is and how it can be a time of deepening or turning from one's faith. I do not simply feel a calling to youth ministry in general, but to THIS youth ministry at CHBC. What began as volunteering has grown into a conviction and calling that this is where God has gifted me and positioned me to serve more deeply.
Over the last four years, I have had the privilege of serving in youth ministry at CHBC. It has been a joy to watch the youth grow and mature over the years. I am excited to continue serving the youth and their families more intentionally than I was before as a volunteer.
Whatever my wife wants to watch. I love a good Rom-com or Pixar movie, though.
Pizza. From anywhere at any time of day.
Football. I played in high school, breaking both hands on separate occasions in the same week. I prefer watching nowadays.
