Incarceration and its many consequences affect our local community in significant ways. Faith teams are a tremendous way we can love and care for those most affected by incarceration. A faith team is a group of 8-12 people who are matched up with an inmate currently serving a prison sentence. The team meets with the inmate for six to nine months before his release and for up to two years afterwards. They pray, coach, encourage and walk with the ex-offender through his re-entry into society. We are doing this because stepping into the social realities that surround us by living out the gospel is what made Jesus tick. It also is a core value of the cross-cultural mission work of the Bible Church.
