Because of our fall emphasis on Life Groups, we are limiting other evening education options this semester, so that Life Groups with child care needs can meet on site.

Sunday Morning Groups

8:15 am -- The Connecting Class

The Connecting Community is a cross-generational class taught by Jim Abrahamson, beginning a study of 2 Corinthians.   The class meets at 8:15 for singing, followed by the lesson and discussion.  The scripture, lesson, questions, and commentary can be accessed weekly at <www.apttoteach.org>. Contact Charles directly to be added to the weekly emails. Get connected! All are welcome! Child care available.

9:30 am -- The Crossroads Community (all generations)
Rooms 255-257

Everyone is welcome to check out our Sunday school group, The Crossroads Community for all Generations.  Our hope is that this class will be authentic, relational, and Christ-centered, a place where you can experience Christ, both in the Scriptures and through friends in the class.   Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, you're welcome here.

9:30 am -- College Encounter (all university students)
Room 207 (Fireside Room off lobby)

College Encounter is more than a class on Sunday mornings, but that is a great way to get connected here at the CHBC.  We seek to be a community of university students that engages in Faith, Love, and Hope.  These three verbs were the key marks of a spiritually growing community, and we want them to be the characteristics of our college community as well.  We desire to move together in Faith, as we try to understand together how God is shaping our lives to reflect more of his image through the Scriptures and through our life experiences.  We desire to be a community that loves one another as we grow in our understanding of God’s love for us.  Finally we desire to be a community driven by Hope, participating in his work as God draws all people to himself.  Join us on Sunday morning for breakfast and a good discussion of topics dealing with becoming a community of Faith, Love, Hope.

11:05 -- Young Adults (ages 22-35)
Rooms 255-259

The Young Adults Ministry seeks to be a community first and foremost.  We value friendship and sharing life with one another.  Our class is an extension of our ministry that seeks to express our faith by engaging in:  1) Intentional Community, 2) Intentional Worship, 3) Intentional Mission.

By “Intentional Community” we mean that we intentionally seek to understand and know others.  We realize that our community is not necessarily a collection of similar people.  Our ministry serves both single and married, grad student and career, as well as those from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.  We believe that this diversity is good for our understanding of God, and we desire to know him through the community that He is putting together.

By “Intentional Worship” we mean that we desire our lives to conform to God’s image.  We want to be humble servants and willing participants in God’s formation of our spirit.  Therefore, we want to seek out creative ways to worship God in spirit and truth communally as well as individually.

By “Intentional Mission” we mean to be caught up by God’s agenda, not our own.  We seek to be instruments of God’s justice and mercy to our local community as well as abroad.  We believe it is essential to be in partnership with other ministries doing this work, in prayer for those trying to find their way in life, and in practice offering life to all who seek it.

We would love to have you involved in our community.  The Young Adult class is but one way to enter this community.  Check out our web pages at <www.biblechurch.org/youngadults> for more details.

Life Groups and Membership Classes

Life Groups

Various times and locations

Joining a Life Group is the most positive and practical process for the life change and spiritual growth Jesus Christ intends for every person.  We believe significant relationships in the church occur best in the context of a Life Group.  Connecting with a small group of Christ followers creates a safe environment to share life stories, pray, serve, and grow in Christ.  Life Groups are open to newcomers and regulars of CHBC.
