Many of our passions relate to particular groups of people, e.g., children, the elderly, college students, the homeless, or single parents. Other passions relate to causes or issues such as reconciliation, the environment, hunger, or social injustice. Passions can also revolve around certain functions in a church fellowship, such as organizing events, people, or systems, or just simply being available to help.
Some questions that may help you begin to identify your passion might include:
What type(s) of people would I most like to help? e.g., homeless, teens, children
What issues or causes do I feel strongly about? e.g., environment, abortion, addictions
At the end of my life, what would I like to know that I had been able to do something about?
If I could, what would I most like to do for others?
List several positive experiences from your life - something you enjoyed doing and felt fulfilled by accomplishing. They could be from home, work, school, or during free time. Examples include: helping friends move, working on a disaster relief team, or being a friend to a teenager.
In what areas do I believe I could make a significant contribution?
Discovering your passion is a process that can become clearer as you think, pray, and gain more experience in life, or various ministries. We are all at different places in our journey and understanding about this part of our lives.
