Runs Fall and Spring Semesters - Starts back September 13, 2011
Tuesdays, 5:15-6pm, followed by our Community Supper at 6pm and Family LifeGroup at 6:45 - join us for one offering or come for it all!
The Sonlight Choir
- seeks to encourage and equip children to participate in worship
- provides opportunities for children to use their talents for God’s glory
- nurtures children’s understanding of and relationship with God
We have been privileged to have wonderful volunteers to assist us in past years, for which we are very thankful! Here are some opportunities for you to share your gifts!
The following needs are semester-long commitments:
Prayer Team - individuals who will commit to pray
- for the children in the choir and their families, that God’s purpose for their lives would be fulfilled
- for the workers involved, for health, for God-given creativity and energy
- for the truth of these songs to resonate in the hearts of the children and in those that hear their message
Parent Assistants (2 or 3 would be great!)
- help with keeping children focused during rehearsals (reminding kids to listen, etc..)
- escorting children to restroom in emergencies (we do not want children to be unattended)
- help with “crowd control” during dinner
Set Designer(s)
- works with music and drama directors in designing and creating set/scenery
- helps assemble needed materials and helps with placement of set on stage for last week of rehearsals
Props Coodinator(s)
- works with music and drama directors in collecting and making props
Costume Coordinator(s)
- works with music and drama directors in collecting and creating costumes (we have a lot already)
- organizes costumes, assigns costumes to individual children
- attends dress rehearsals and assists children with costume needs
Food Coordinator(s) for Dress Rehearsals
- sets up tables, paper products, etc..
- purchases food items (pizza, etc…)
- recruits volunteers for clean-up
Reception Coordinator(s)
- sets up tables (tablecloths, paper products - also decorating lobby area)
- coordinates people in bringing goodies, or purchase goodies
- recruits volunteers for clean-up
Whew!! As you can see, there is a lot of work involved in putting something like this together, but I think you will find the experience rewarding, and worth the effort. We hope this will be a meaningful and memorable experience for your child.
