Vickie Turner joined the Team and brought along several new members. There was a good time of sharing about our vision for CHBC and what it means to connect to newcomers with continual outreach toward the congregation.

Hugh invited the Children's ministry team to join us. It was helpful to both teams to identify mutual goals in welcoming well. The children's ministry team focuses on welcoming families well and making sure everyone is made to feel like they have a place and someone to talk to.

Our focus is on helping establish disciples, and to that end we’ve got several related, ongoing projects, including: a class on discipleship, a brochure that outlines our goals at the church, and a website that helps us keep up to date on the latest ideas by providing resources for study and development. Below are a few of the projects we have been or are currently working on.

SL suggests that in January or February, all teams meet together and discuss what their ministry needs are and how the other teams can possibly help, to avoid ministry silos and encourage collaboration.

In November the spirit life team met with the community life team to see how we can work with each other to facilitate our goals.

We finished off the fall semester in style this year.  We had the annual youth christmas party on the 11th at the home of Fulton and MaryBeth Hartzog.  This year we had over 80 youth attend.  It was a great time of eating delicious food, handing out white elephant gifts and just spending time together.

Mary Quaile, one of our seniors, is the organizer of Operation Christmas Child at our church.  She has done this for a few years.  Our church is also the local drop-off for other area churches to bring their boxes.  Mary coordinated the whole thing

October was a busy month for our high school youth.  The high school life groups all got together at one of the leaders' houses for the annual fall party.  They had a nice time of fellowship while carving pumpkins and watching Charlie Brown.  It was a good

The Spiritual Life Team joined with the Community Life Team to share their team visions and see how we might partner together. After introductions, team members shared personal thoughts about what they would like to see the teams accomplish.
