Even if you drive gently, with few or no periods of unduly rapid acceleration (e.g. flooring the accelerator to win the race from the stoplight) or needlessly rapid deceleration (e.g. stomping the brake pedal in the last few hundred feet before a red traffic signal, instead of gradually slowing down as soon as you saw the red signal), how much fuel are you wasting? Even if your tires are properly and fully inflated to reduce the rolling resistance, and the engine is maintained with clean air filters, etc. for best efficiency, how much fuel are you wasting?

Correlated Color Temperature

One important aspect in selecting artificial light sources that was omitted from the prepared class presentation (but was brought up by an attendee) is color temperature.

This quality is seldom included in the specifications for an incandescent lamp. Since the filament of an incandescent lamp merely radiates light because it is hot, the color temperature is merely a statement of how hot the filament is. Usually that is 2,700 K (for Kelvin) or 2,800 K, sometimes as high as 3,300 K for halogen incandescent lamps.
