What is a church?
The church is a group of Christians, in a particular location, who intentionally worship, serve, and share Christ together, guided by the Bible, under the care of a group of elders, with a desire to see God glorified.  There are a lot more details one could share, but that is the gist.

What kind of church are you?
We are a non-denominational church, comprised of a diverse group of people who love Jesus Christ and His gospel, who want to be under the authority of Scripture, and who deeply desire Jesus to be known in our city and the world.  We are a church that reflects our city, which is a location of premier universities, a diversity of races, and a gathering of national and international people - at all stages of life and spiritual development.

We are committed to the historic and orthodox Christian faith, we are deeply committed to the truth of Scripture, we hunger to live out our faith personally and corporately, and we are passionate that more and more people experience the joy of knowing Jesus.

Are you a church that wants to reach a particular type of people?
Yes…breathing people. We are not committed to one race, one age group, one demographic, or one gender. We are committed to every person with the one gospel.

We want non-Christians to join us. The Bible Church is a place for the spiritually curious to learn more about Biblical Christianity in a warm and safe environment.  In fact, we think one will find a church that will gently and respectfully dialogue, wrestle, defend, and commend Biblical Christianity with those curious about what it is all about.

We want new Christians to join us. Some of you may have come to know Jesus not long ago. We are a church that provides opportunities for you to learn and grow in your walk with Jesus, at many levels, through different means, from theology books to personal mentoring.

We want mature Christian leaders to join us. We hope that Christians who have followed Jesus for years will find a church home where they are fed from God’s word, re-hear the inexhaustible truths of the gospel, are challenged to continue to grow, and a place they are invited to use their gifts to serve.

What is a service like?
The Bible does not have a rigid formula for what gathered worship looks like. A few things are clear. It should be Biblically focused. It should involve music. It involves the gathering of several people. Occasionally, it should involve baptisms and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Some consistent features: Our services draw from several different musical genres, we have Scripture readings, prayers, people will share about what Jesus is doing in and through them, and our time of worship culminates in the preaching of the Bible. Our preaching can be best described as the teaching of a Biblical text in context, what is sometimes called expository preaching. Many times we go through an entire book. Sometimes we will focus on a theme that the Bible itself considers important.  We design our services to be a God centered, Biblical, passion-stirring, and equipping time for people on any part of the spiritual spectrum

What should I wear?
Actually, the better question is: what kind of attitude should I bring? We take worshipping God very seriously. He is a holy God that demands our all. But, that is a heart attitude, not an equation for style or level of formality. If coming to worship with a thoughtful and committed heart means jeans and t-shirt, then wear that. If it means being more formal, even something like a suit and tie or nice dress, then wear that. The beauty of the gospel is that it is about Jesus, not about us. Our best advice is: take God seriously, don’t take yourself seriously and set yourself up to focus on Jesus.

Are there resources for my kids on Sunday mornings?
Your children are welcome to stay with you, if your family is most comfortable that way, or to attend our children's programs. Both our nursery and Children's Sunday school rooms are open to receive children at 9:20 and 10:55am (approximately ten minutes before each service begins). Start at the Family Welcome Center at the top of the stairwell to register your children and find out which classrooms they will be in. There is a family room for babies, toddlers, and parents to one side of the auditorium.

Our nursery provides a safe, secure, and loving environment where your little one can enjoy colorful and age-appropriate toys. Learn more.

Our Children's Sunday school program is creative and fun, yet serious about helping children grow spiritually in their understanding of, and relationship to, God. Learn more.

Our teachers and assistants are committed to being there weekly to provide stable and loving relationships that promote spiritual growth.

If you have a teenager, they are invited to attend the service with you. Sunday school classes for Middle and High School students are offered downstairs at 9:30am. Additionally, Sunday Night Fusion (youth group) meets at 6pm downstairs in the youth rooms. Learn more.
