What is a service like?
Our Sunday morning services start at 9:15 and 11:05 and last about an hour and a fifteen minutes. Every service typically includes music, teaching, and prayer, and sharing information about church events and needs. Other elements happen on a more occasional basis, such as baptism, communion, and individuals sharing what God is doing in their lives.
Our worship music draws from several different styles. A folk/rock song played by the worship band might be followed by a classical song performed by the choir. The crowd engages in worship by singing together.
The worship service is grounded by the teaching of the Bible. This teaching can be best described as the exposition of a Biblical text in context, what is sometimes called expository preaching. We want our services to be God-centered, emotionally inspiring, and intellectually challenging.
Is this a safe place to explore Christianity?
No matter where you are spiritually, we hope that you will feel welcome at our church and leave wanting to know more about Jesus.
What should I wear?
We believe that the heart attitude matters more than appearance. If coming to worship Jesus means wearing jeans and a t-shirt, then wear that. If it means being more formal, even something like a suit and tie or a dress, then wear that. You will see a variety of apparel at our church. The beauty of the gospel is that it is about Jesus, not about us.
Are there resources for my kids on Sunday mornings?
Your children are welcome to stay with you, if your family is most comfortable that way, or to attend our children's programs. There is a family room for babies, toddlers, and parents to one side of the auditorium. Both our nursery and children's Sunday school rooms are open to receive children at 9:05 and 10:55 a.m. (approximately ten minutes before each service begins). Start at the Sunday school registration table at the top of the stairwell to register your children and find out which classrooms they will be in.
