We believe that prayer is a crucial part of engaging with God in His mission to redeem all of creation to himself. Through prayer God speaks to us (and we to him) and transforms our heart to be more like His. Through prayer we find our desires become more like His desires, our priorities come in alignment with His. Through prayer God also deepens our love for our bothers and sisters in our community and around the world.
Our monthly prayer guides are a tool to encourage the Chapel Hill Bible Church and those influenced by its ministry to pray for our congregation, our core ministries and our local and global mission partners. We encourage you to pray through these guides with us as we lift each other up to before our loving Father.
Prayer After Worship is an opportunity for anyone to receive prayer by simply going to the prayer area in the sanctuary after each service. Prayer ministers, who feel called by God, volunteer to listen and join in with those who want to pray. The ministers are supported by the elders but organized by Sharon Young on a quarterly basis. Do you feel called to help our congregation minister to each other and to visitors? If so, contact Sharon for more details (942-0699). Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you and joining in your prayers, no matter how seemingly insignificant they may be.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7).
The World Serious purpose is threefold:
- To keep abreast of what God is doing worldwide
- To hear firsthand reports from our missionaries
- To pray for the missionaries and God's work throughout the world
Our desire is to please the Lord by obeying His plan for us to meet with Him in prayer for all that is done in His name. "Again , I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:19-20
We accomplish this by offering an alternative/additional meeting time for those individuals who cannot gather for the Monday night missions supper. We meet the second Wednesday of months September through April from 12 -2pm.

Every Monday night at 6PM, we meet in the Fireside Room for a potluck supper and prayer for our Cross Cultural Missions ministries. This meeting is open to any and all interested in supporting this area of our fellowship--our motto comes from William Carey who said "I will go, if you hold the rope," and that is what we do. When we have visits from our missionaries and those in our partnerships, we often hear of their ministry and needs. Contact Jean or Hank Lesesne for more information. (919-929-2578)
With all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance for all the saints. Eph 6:18

Do you have a heart to pray for others?
The prayer chain is a quiet, exciting ministry for people of the Chapel Hill Bible Church. It is quiet because you participate in this ministry in the solitude of your own home or at your convenience. It is exciting because we see God at work, hearing and answering our prayers. Prayer Chain members receive prayer requests several times a week to pray about via email.
There are no set number of times to pray- we just ask that you pray as the Lord lays them on your heart. We do ask that you keep the prayer requests confidential as most are about those in our church or their loved ones. We also share updates about things we have prayed about and how God has answered them.
