Reviving Prayer in 2017

Revive prayerAs part of our Revive initiative we would like to emphasize that most basic of spiritual disciplines – prayer. Paul writes in Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  As Christians, prayer is to be part of our daily lives, not simply a hotline to be used in times of trouble.

Save the date for KidsFest 2017

KidsFest2Mark your calendars for KidsFest, CHBC’s annual summer kids camp, which will be for kids ages 3-11 on June 19-23 from 9am to 12pm each day! Last year’s camp, featuring a superhero theme and a focus on God’s amazing power, was a huge success, with 237 registered kids!

Hurricane Matthew Efforts

Hurricane MatthewHurricane Matthew has left much devastation, especially in Eastern North Carolina. Phil Cowan, a CHBC member, wants to take a trip to see how we might join with others involved in the clean-up and rebuild. If you are interested in helping after the new year (likely a weekend trip), contact Phil at 919-932-7287. 

Praying Women, Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30

2HandsNoBackgroundBetterPraying Women, organized by Susan Thomas, meets at CHBC on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30am in the libarary. We spend time each week praying over our own Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth. Please feel free to join us whenever you can. To begin, we will use the ACTS format that we learned at the women's retreat in February – adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.
