Books on Break, by Pastor Roddy Dinsmore

Roddy RachelOver the last two years the Chapel Hill Bible Church has contributed close to 5,000 books to Book Harvest, a local non-profit with the aim of getting books into the hands of children in our community. We seek the good of our cities and want to see children of all social-economic backgrounds flourish as they grow and learn. 
So whatever happened to all of those books that we spent so many hours collecting and boxing up?
I was invited by Rachel Stine (CHBC member and Book Harvest Staff) to Eastway Elementary School in Durham on May 25th to participate in the Books on Break program.

Save the date for KidsFest 2017

KidsFest2Mark your calendars for KidsFest, CHBC’s annual summer kids camp, which will be for kids ages 3-11 on June 19-23 from 9am to 12pm each day! Last year’s camp, featuring a superhero theme and a focus on God’s amazing power, was a huge success, with 237 registered kids!

Praying Women, Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30

2HandsNoBackgroundBetterPraying Women, organized by Susan Thomas, meets at CHBC on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30am in the libarary. We spend time each week praying over our own Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth. Please feel free to join us whenever you can. To begin, we will use the ACTS format that we learned at the women's retreat in February – adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.
