As the Gospel transforms us, something beautiful happens: we become more human. Put another way, we become like Jesus.
God’s mission to transform us in His image aims at every aspect of our lives, including our financial generosity. It is a grace to give (the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 8:6), because giving is a visual demonstration of the infinite grace God has given us in Christ.
At the Bible church we think of growing in our faith journey like a three lane highway.
- The first lane is a journey of moving from me-centered to Christ-centered living.
- The second lane is moving from isolation to community.
- And the third lane is moving from being a getter to becoming a giver. That third lane is a journey of finding deep and meaningful joy in giving away our time, our talent, and our treasure. It is our conviction that the more obedient, joyful, and prayerful our generosity becomes, the more we cultivate the power of God’s Spirit to work in us and through us, which in turn has incalculable benefits of gospel-advancing fruitfulness.
Therefore, we will regularly and graciously teach and encourage our church family to begin and grow on their giving journey – starting from beginning to give to, one day, becoming a generational impact giver. We hope the resources below and the answers to frequently asked questions help you joyfully and confidently give.

Generosity Part One
Generosity Part Two
Being wise, worshipful, and strategic with your giving is important. Below are a few answers to some frequently asked questions.
I want to give to CHBC! Can I use my credit or debit card?
Yes, you sure can. Click here to get to our online giving portal. You will then need to log in to your CHBC web account or create an account. If you have used our online registration system for any events or retreats in the past, you will use the same account for online giving.
What about a draft from my bank account?
You can follow the same link and set up a draft rather than a credit or debit card.
I have a recurring gift set up through the online giving portal, but sometimes I hear about something in the service that I want to give to right away. Is there a way to do this?
Yes, there is. The best way to give if you came unprepared or are spontaneously inspired is by text. Just text “100” (or any amount) to our special number, 84321 and follow the prompts. The first time you do this you will need to set up your credit or debit card or bank account.
After that it is just a few responses and your gift is given.
I want to give to Benevolence or the Building Fund and didn’t bring my checkbook or any money. Can I use TXT for that?
Yes, you can. Just TXT the word "benevolence" to 84321 and your amount (e.g. 100).
I would like to give a stock gift. How do I do that?
If you wish to give a stock gift, please email Donna Calhoun-Coston in the business office with the name of the stock and the number of shares you wish to give so that we can acknowledge your offering. Then have your broker contact our E*TRADE account. Our E*TRADE brokerage account number is 6501-6795 and the DTC Routing code is 0385. Please transfer the stock gift to our E*TRADE account. (E*TRADE will not give us the name of contributors. It is very important we get that information from you in order to give you proper credit.)
I would prefer to write a check – you do take checks, right?
Absolutely. You may write a check, made out to Chapel Hill Bible Church, and drop it in the offering basket during the worship service or put it in the mail to us (260 Erwin Road, Chapel Hill, NC, 27514).
Is there a way for me to get contributions credit by giving cash?
Yes indeed. You may put your cash gift into a sealed envelope with your name and address in with it and we will credit your contributions statement with that amount.
How often do I receive contributions statements?
We mail contributions statements in January of every year. We also usually mail contributions statements in October.
I have a question about my giving – whom should I contact?
I want more information about the finances of the church. Who do I ask about that?
Donna Coston, our Business Office Director will be happy to answer your questions, as will Emily Williams, Church Administrator. You may make an appointment with either to learn about anything regarding CHBC finances. We are happy to discuss it with you.
