We partner in ministry by learning from as well as investing in others. By sharing their perspectives and insights with us, our cross-cultural partners help us understand the many cultures in our congregation, and how to build unity in Christ. We have developed partnerships with several churches: Mavuno Downtown Church in Nairobi, Kenya (one of the Nairobi Chapel family of churches), Powerhouse Church in Mamelodi, South Africa, and Antioch Baptist Church in Durham. We have both blessed and been blessed by these relationships.
Opportunities to immerse yourself in another culture for a short but intentional period of time is an important way of learning about the world outside of your culture, about your cultural blind spots, and to gain insights into the Kingdom of God. In the Bible Church we stress these cross-cultural experiences more as a means of spiritual formation than as a benefit to the people visited.
