“Stargazer”

Scripture refers to Jesus as the Bright Morning Star. As we look to
Him for help now and toward His second coming, we sometimes feel like
we are in the midst of darkness and turmoil. We can take comfort knowing
that as 'Stargazers' we are to reflect the image (note the cross likeness
in the center of the lily) and the Light of the Bright Morning star (note
the iridescent reflections on the leaves).

Whelan Funkhouser lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and three children.
She has been painting for about 4 years, and prefers watercolors. Her
main interest is botanical subjects.
