“Mountain
Dance”
Jan Pulley
Acrylic
I see three different positions we all take in our dance with the Lord
along this journey with Him. There’s the youngster outside the
circle, who is curious, ambivalent, attracted to and repulsed by the
spectacle presented before him. Sometimes ignorance or sin, his own or
that of the group, gets in the way of taking that first step of liberty.
Another position demonstrated in the group is that of the older teenagers.
From a world perspective they might seem to have more savvy in conduct
and coordination, but they still hold onto the things gained from the
experience of living in this fallen world that they need to release in
order to be completely His. The paradox of the Kingdom lies in the optimum
position described best by Jesus’ saying, "Truly I say to
you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not
enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3.
