“Lilies of the Sky”

Gayle Thomas

Watercolor

Only a God with infinite resources could afford to be so extravagant in His creation. Not only does He clothe the short lived lilies in beautiful colors but also the ephemeral butterflies. I am reminded of His loving attention to the details of our lives as I study the intricacies of these beautiful creations.

Gayle Thomas rediscovered her artistic impulses through her children's interest in art. She has been taking classes for 5 years in drawing and watercolor at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro. She finds drawing and painting a restful retreat from society's hectic pace. She is priviledged to serve as a Family Practice physician in the Carrboro Community Health Center, working closely with the hispanic community.
