“Hummingbird”
Sheana Funkhouser
Watercolor
These feisty little birds are frequently overlooked as they sit on branches,
waiting for their chance to either defend their feeding area or discover
a
new one. Always alert to danger or other threats, they often return to
a
favorite perch to watch their part of the garden.
Sheana Whelan Funkhouser lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and three
children. She paints almost exclusively with watercolors. Her main interest
is outdoor flora (botanicals) and living creatures found in and around
the
garden.
