“Anna in the Garden”

Deborah Pollard

Watercolor

This painting was inspired by one of God’s small creatures, my daughter, Anna. As I watched her explore her grandmother’s garden, I was moved to capture her curiosity about this beauty around her.

Deborah Hanna Pollard was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she learned to draw at an early age. Encouraged by very creative parents, she continued making art through her teenage years, studying watercolor with a local artist. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting. Currently Deborah lives with her husband and three children in Hillsborough, N.C. where she works from her home studio. Deborah also teaches drawing and painting to students of all ages and has held art workshops for children at various venues in Chapel Hill, and Durham areas.
