“Spud and
Tater Quilt”
Jan Pulley
Fabric / Quilt
The Spud and Tater Quilt is a poignant exercise of blending
my artistic skills with my sewing skills that my mother handed down to
me. A master craftsman in her own right, she conveyed many of the skills
that I have relied on in my career of making art. This piece was conceived
and executed during her last days of battling cancer in the hospital
and provided a much needed object of joy and humor in a sad and difficult
time. This piece celebrates my love for my first set of dogs, Spud and
Tater, pit beagles.
