“Dragonfly
on Pickerel”

This was inspired by a small water garden in my backyard that attracts
many
dragonflies. I was inspired by the combination of wonderful colors
and the
delicate wings on the dragonfly. Note a shimmering quality of the wings.
Sheana Whelan Funkhouser lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and three
children. She paints almost exclusively with watercolors. Her main interest
is outdoor flora (botanicals) and living creatures found in and around
the
garden.
