Barbi Dalton

Oil on Canvas

Cecil Alexander in the 1800’s wrote the hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful”. Her intentions were to help children understand the apostles creed, I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, was not just about the stars and planets and earth but also about all of Gods creations.

All things bright and beautiful

All creatures’ great and small

All things wise and wonderful

The Lord God made them all

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good” Genesis 1:31.

Regan our beloved dog is painted in her favorite spot, basking in the warmth of the light provided from the beautiful day. This reminds me of the peace, comfort, and contentment that Christ light gives to us when we dwell in His presence.

The art of Barbi Dalton reflects her diverse experiences and education. She graduated from Kansas University with a BFA and immediately launched her career by a move to New York City to design textiles. While living in New York City she also explored the commercial photography and graphic design field. After experiencing life in the Big Apple, Barbi decided to further her world by traveling to Europe. The venture abroad involved the study of painting techniques used by the Italian Masters. This study overflowed to her work in Chicago, in the form of murals. Barbi was the featured artist of the renowned Hinsdale Antique Show as well as having been showcased in many designer homes and other businesses in Chicago. Barbi's career took a change when her family relocated to Chapel Hill, NC. She has continued to be found in the North Carolina region as a muralist, painting scenes at the Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. Barbi has become an established watercolorist and oil painter, creating a niche among personal collectors who appreciate the flair she brings to her European-styled landscapes. She has been highlighted in American Artist magazine as an artist traveling in France. Recently she has shown in the Raleigh Fine Arts Show, Hope Valley Country Club, Orange County Studio Tour, North Carolina Watercolor Society Annual Show as well as the North Carolina State Fair, Horace Williams House Preservation Society Show, Chapel Hill Bible Church, Durham Art Center, and Green Tara Gallery, Barbi is represented by Art Source Gallery, Raleigh, NC. Future exhibits are planned for Rock Hill, SC. Art Center and the Orange County Artist Guild Studio tour.
