Scott
Vermillion
Minister for University and Young Adults
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the diversity of people you meet in this area, and encouraging
them at the beginning of their adult life.
Who is important in your life?
My Wife – Samantha is truly a blessing to me. Her love
has transformed the way I look at life.
My Daughters – Lydia & Claire are a joy to me. I love
to watch them explore the world around them. Claire seems consumed
to cover the earth with her saliva. Lydia, is teaching us about
animal husbandry given her intense appreciation of the animal kingdom
(of the stuffed variety).
My Family & Friends – Without them my courage would dissipate,
my vision would be blurred and my heart would shrink.
What are your hobbies or interests?
Laughter – It is important not to take myself too seriously,
so that I won’t miss what God is doing in others.
Making Movies – If I were not a minister at the Bible Church I would
be the next Spielberg. I love to capture events and tell a story
through the medium of film.
Sports – I love to play and watch. Go Heels!
Outdoors – I can’t say that I have hugged a tree, but I am
open to it. When I connect with the outdoor world, something crooked
in my soul is straightened out.
Technology – I can’t help but be attracted to gadgets. For
some reason being able to carry all 3,196 of my songs (that’s 7.9
days of continuous play for those wondering at home) in my pocket is nothing
short of miraculous to me.
What is your favorite book? (besides the Bible)
Eat this Book, Eugene Peterson
What is your favorite movie?
Major Payne - “Choo, Choo!”
For fun I enjoy...
Sucking helium out of balloons and leaving voice messages on Mark Acuff’s
answering machine.

Samantha, Lydia and Scott

Fortunately, Lydia does not seem to have inherited the Large
Green Hand Syndrome that Scott occasionally suffers from.
Give her time, though ...
