Church LeadershipThe Bible Church has two major groups of officers. The Elders deal primarily with the shepherding of the spiritual life of the church. Individual elders are available to provide pastoral guidance and insight as the members desire it. The lives of these men are to display the attitude of servant-leadership that Jesus modeled. Elders are also responsible for superintending the ministries of the church. By overseeing the programs and equipping the participants to serve, they attempt to meet needs in the most loving and efficient manner. In this way, gifts are expressed and needs fulfilled. The elders also constitute the ruling body of the church. They are charged with making the major decisions in the regular operation of the organization. The major restrictions to this authority are in the areas of change concerning the Constitution, pastoral staff, property, and budget. Lay elders and deacons serve for three-year terms. You can contact the elders by emailing elders@biblechurch.org. Elders for 2008 (please see the Elders' home page for more information) The Deacons are the second major group of officers. Their primary role is to assist the elders in the administration of the church. They are responsible to the elders in their decisions, which deal primarily with physical properties and the finances of the church. They assist in the details behind the scenes for Sunday worship and promote orderly programs. Beyond these operations, they present an annual budget for congregational approval. By nature of their role, these men and women must also be servants at heart. You can contact the deacons by emailing deacons@biblechurch.org.
